Synopsis

In a sub-Andean forest in Bolivia, Miguel and Marcos take part in the shooting of an American horror film set in a former colonial estancia. Miguel, chosen for his bodybuilder physique, plays the monster. Marcos, a local farmer, provides his bulls to the production. What begins as an ordinary film shoot gradually turns into a dangerous experience for both men, as they find themselves confronted with a world that is as strange as it is threatening. Cuerpo Criminal blends observational documentary with genre elements to expose the abusive nature of the film industry and the power dynamics inherited from contemporary colonialism.
