L’Œil Vif Productions is a Toulouse-based production company founded by a group of producers with complementary skills and experience. We produce films for cinema and television in a variety of forms, from genre fiction to creative documentaries.
Through the moving image, we aim to perceive and make manifest the complexity of reality. Our aim is to bring out the multiplicity of perspectives on reality, to trace paths, to map the places of the imaginary, and to blur the boundaries between fiction and reality.
Committed to the decentralization of audiovisual production in France, we pay particular attention to the emergence of French and Occitan talent, as well as international filmmakers with atypical narratives and strong, cross-genre narratives.
Our first films, both short and feature-length, have won awards and been presented at festivals (Cannes, Director’s Fortnight, Locarno, IDFA, Champs Elysées Film festival, Indie Lisboa, Fespaco, Cinéma du Réel, Visions du Réel, Clermont-Ferrand, Premiers Plans d'Angers, Cinemed Montpellier, Rencontres cinématographiques de Béjaïa, Singapore Film Festival etc.). We also work with television on our current projects (France Télévisions, ARTE Court-Circuit, TV5 Monde, Lyon Capitale TV etc.).

After graduating in management and then production at the Master 2 métiers de la production in Montpellier, Jules learned the rudiments of the trade at Films Pelléas, then did a stint on film sets and in distribution at Warner Bros, before joining Ladybirds Films in 2018 as an administrator. After a few months working alongside Hélène Badinter, he became producer and associate. True to the company's historical focus on creative documentaries, he also turns his attention to cinema and fiction. In 2022, he co-founded L'Oeil Vif Productions with Mouloud Ouyahia and Lucas Senecaut. In 2023, he took part in the Eurodoc training program, and to date has produced or co-produced over 25 films in France and abroad.

After studying law, Lucas Sénécaut turned to filmmaking in Montpellier before moving to Cambodia, where he worked at the Bophana Center founded by Rithy Panh. This experience has had a lasting influence on his perspective on exile and shifting identities. Upon returning to France, he co-founded L’OEIL VIF PRODUCTIONS in Toulouse in 2022. Conceived as a collective, the company supports filmmakers with distinctive styles in France and internationally.
His directorial debut, Khmerica, which had its world premiere at Visions du Réel in 2025, went on to screen at festivals in France and abroad. At the same time, he has developed a career as a producer, supporting films presented at the Cannes Film Festival, IDFA, Clermont-Ferrand, Champs-Elyées, Cinéma du Réel, and Malaga. Lucas is currently developing his next films as a writer or producer, in a cinematic style rooted between reality and fiction, marked by wandering, the margins, and a form of existential absurdity.

Mouloud Ouyahia grew up in Algeria, then moved to France before the age of 18. There he studied cinema and philosophy, then worked in documentary development for various production companies. He directed and produced his first film, The House is on Fire, Might as Well Get Warm, which earned him several festival selections, including the Quinzaine des cinéastes, the International Short Film Festival in Clermont Ferrand and the Special Jury Prize at Indielisboa. He is producer and co-founder of L'Oeil Vif Productions. He is currently producing Cyrille Guei's The One who Cries, Daniel Soares' A Few Things Happening by the River and developing his feature film Al Madda.

Originally from Minneapolis, MN, USA, Jack arrived in France by chance in 2011. But it wasn't until he completed a Master's degree in Social Sciences at Central European University in Budapest that he discovered documentary filmmaking. Returning to Toulouse in 2019, he worked as an editor on documentary projects, and then discovered the world of fiction, working as production manager on a number of short films shot in Occitanie and elsewhere. Having crossed paths with L'Oeil Vif through editing in 2023, he joined the company in 2024, keen to apply his diverse knowledge to the development of local and international projects. In particular, Jack is keen to work on collaboration between France and the United States.

Trained in foreign literature and civilization, Mathilde specializes in the Americas. This curiosity led her to Brazil, where she lived for four years. Initially a translator, then a subtitler, she began production at Marahu Filmes in Belém, working on the film Amazon Mirror (Berlinale Panorama, 2020). On her return, she worked in documentary production at Ekla Production, then studied production in Serge Lalou's Master's program in Montpellier. Since then, she has worked in development and documentary production at Cinétévé, before joining Les Films d'Ici to work on web series, TV unitaries and feature films. In 2022, she joined the producers of L'Oeil Vif to strengthen the documentary team.

A graduate of ENERC (Argentina's National Film School) and ENSAV in Toulouse, Julieta began her career in Argentina with Ajimolido Films, as a production manager for auteur films with an international profile (co-productions with Panama, Brazil, Chile, France and Spain). She then moved to France, where she obtained a Master's degree in Production and worked in the documentary industry in Paris. In 2023, back in Toulouse, she joined the Oeil Vif team as a producer, with a particular interest in non-fiction, documentary and hybrid films. She also contributes to the programming of festivals devoted to Southern cinematography, such as CineMigrante (Argentina), and for several years has been actively involved in the documentary programming of Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse.
